About Coach Madlena Bobeva
Coach Madlena was born and raised in Bulgaria, where she had the privilege of training in the world-renowned Bulgarian School of Rhythmic Gymnastics—celebrated internationally for its excellence in precision, artistry, and discipline. With a strong foundation in this tradition, she competed both nationally and internationally in rhythmic gymnastics and aesthetic group gymnastics. Alongside her gymnastics career, Madlena pursued her passion for ballet, studying at the Krasimira Koldamova School of Ballet in Sofia, then continuing her training at Broadway Dance Center and the Gelsey Kirkland Academy in New York City. She later joined the ballet company of the Burgas State Opera in Bulgaria.
Madlena began coaching while still performing, and over the years, she has taught rhythmic gymnastics at Anna’s Gymnastics Academy in London, Manhattan Rhythmics and Empire Rhythmic Gymnastics in New York City, and most recently at BALA Gymnastics. For the past three years, she was also a teacher at Bulgarian School "Gergana” in New York. She has worked with gymnasts of all levels—from beginner recreational athletes to advanced and international competitors—and has prepared and accompanied students to various competitions, supporting their technical and artistic development both in training and during events. Her background in both rhythmic gymnastics and ballet gives her a unique understanding of how to guide gymnasts through body technique and artistry. In addition to group coaching, she has worked extensively with private students—both rhythmic gymnasts and dancers—helping them progress in alignment with their personal goals and competitive paths.
Madlena has also led classes and workshops in a wide range of settings, including adult stretch classes and summer camps throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. She has developed and led her own summer camp programs, combining discipline with creative exploration. During the lockdown period, she launched a full schedule of online classes in rhythmic gymnastics, ballet, and flexibility training, which received outstanding feedback and continued well beyond that time. Many of her online students remain with her today.
Coach Madlena continues to work with both children and adults, offering personalized training in person and online. She is a USA Gymnastics professional member and First Aid certified.
Group Classes
Rhythmic Gymnastics
Coach Madlena offers rhythmic gymnastics group classes for all levels - from beginner recreational gymnasts to high-level competitive athletes. Training focuses on developing flexibility, coordination, body technique, and apparatus handling in a structured and supportive environment.
Classes also include targeted work on body difficulties including technique for balances, turns and jumps. Special attention is given to artistry and musicality, helping gymnasts perform not only with precision but also with expression. Apparatus handling is also a key part of every session. Ballet for Rhythmic Gymnasts
Coach Madlena’s ballet classes are specially designed to support the needs or rhythmic gymnasts at all levels. Rooted in the Vaganova technique, the training focuses on improving coordination, musicality, balance, control and overall body alignment - key qualities that directly enhance performance in rhythmic gymnastics.
Each session includes both barre and center work along with targeted exercises that support the execution of body difficulties such as balances, turns and jumps. Classes also focus on developing graceful movement quality, posture and expressive presence on the carpet. This batter training is carefully adapted to complement rhythmic gymnastics and help gymnasts bring elegance, strength, and control into their overall performance.
Stretch Classes
Coach Madlena’s stretch classes are rooted in rhythmic gymnastics methodology and combine elements of both active and passive stretching, along with light conditioning to support long-term flexibility and mobility. These sessions are open to all ages and levels, and can be adapted to suit the needs of complete beginners or advanced students - depending on the level of the group.
The focus is on improving range of motion, alignment, and overall body awareness in a safe and effective way, Whether you are working towards splits, backbends, or simply looking move more freely, this class is designed to help each participant build flexibility with control and proper technique.
Flexibility and Conditioning for Dancers
This class is designed to help dancers improve their flexibility, strength and technique through a rhythmic-gymnastics-informed approach, Madlena’s background in both rhythmic gymnastics and ballet brings valuable insight into technique, especially for balances, jumps and turns - helping dancers develop greater control, stability and precision.
the sessions combine passive and active stretching with targeted conditioning exercises to support clean lines, technical development, and movement quality. Suitable for dancers of all levels, the training can be adjusted to meet the needs of individuals or groups, offering a supportive for long term progress and performance.
Private Lessons
Rhythmic Gymnastics
Ages 3-18
Private lessons tailored to the individual needs of each child - whether they want to work on all-around skills or focus on specific areas that need improvement. Sessions include work on flexibility, conditioning, balance, jumps and turns technique, apparatus handling and artistry, all customized to help each gymnast develop their strengths and reach their goals. Suitable for both beginners and advanced competitors, these lessons provide personalized, one-on-one coaching.
Ballet for rhythmic gymnasts
Ages 6-18
These private ballet lessons are designed specifically to support and enhance performance in rhythmic gymnastics. Rooted in the Vaganova technique, the classes are adapted to meet the specific needs of rhythmic gymnastics, with a focus on developing grace, control and precision. Sessions include both barre and center work, targeting elements essential for rhythmic gymnastics such as balances, turns, jumps, coordination and body alignment. The goal is to build strong, expressive movement and refined technique that support the demands of rhythmic gymnastics.
Flexibility Training
All ages
These flexibility classes are open to all ages and livels, and are designed to safely increase flexibility, mobility and overall body control. Rooted in rhythmic gymnastics methodology, the sessions combine active and passive stretching techniques. Each class is tailored to the individual’s goals - whether it’s improving general range of motion, developing splits or backbends or gaining more freedom in movement. The focus is on long-term flexibility and functional mobility through mindful, effective training.
Online Classes
What began as a necessary shift during the pandemic era has grown into a lasting and successful part of coach Madlena’s teaching. During the lockdowns, she began offering online classes in rhythmic gymnastics, ballet and flexibility training for students of all ages and levels. The virtual format proved to be highly effective, with consistently positive feedback and noticeable results. Many of the students who joined her online during that time continue to train with her to this day. Coach Madlena remains committed to working with students from all around the world, offering personalized, high-quality training no matter the distance.

Summer Camps
